Chamber music vs
piano chamber music
Community chamber music (strings, wind, vocal) vs universal chamber music (piano).
The unique characteristics of piano chamber music.
The Chair of Piano Chamber Music (KKF).

1. I differentiate between two kinds of chamber music:
the so-called community chamber music for string and wind instruments and
vocal, and the universal chamber music for piano.
2. The community chamber music for string and wind
instruments and vocal focuses mostly on professional problems resulting from
the individual characteristics of these instruments (it would be hard to
imagine that string instruments would encounter the same problems as wind
instruments or vocal when playing/singing
in an ensemble) .
3. The universal piano chamber music means co-operation
with all the kinds of instruments and with singers while performing on stage and also throughout
the whole learning process; both would be unimaginable without the support of
the pianist.
4. The scope of professional obligations of the pianist
towards the ensemble is huge and requires considerable sense of responsibility,
starting from the job of a coach and tutor at music schools and opera theatres,
and ending with a joint performance in the proverbial philharmonic
society.
5. The requirement and the obligation to prepare pianists
professionally and psychologically to perform in any ensemble models, basing on the concept of partnership in
music, fully justifies the existence of the Chair of Piano Chamber Music (KKF).
